چکیده

Landslides pose significant risks to towns and villages in Southern Italy, including the San Marco dei Cavoti hamlet (Benevento, Campania), where settlements have expanded into areas threatened by landslides, leading property damage, disruption social fabric loss of life. This study aims investigate surface deformations area using Differential Interferometry SAR (DInSAR) analysis on COSMO-SkyMed radar imagery assess potential implications for landslide activity. The DInSAR methodology allowed us obtain high-precision results presented as time series diagrams maps cumulative displacement area. Furthermore, rates derived from were decomposed vertical horizontal components provide better insights slope processes their impacts hamlet. Our findings revealed active movements uphill enlargement previously inventoried landslides threatening These contribute a understanding dynamics region highlight that may require further investigation or intervention measures. In conclusion, this demonstrates effectiveness providing valuable informing mitigation measures at-risk communities. technique could be applied other landslide-prone regions support informed decision-making enhance safety resilience affected

SAR interferometry analyses and experiments with COSMO-SkyMed

The new X-band SAR missions provide SAR images characterized by a much higher resolution, opening new possibilities for SAR interferometry. Thanks to the high resolution it is expected to find a larger number of coherent points or persistent scatterers per unit area, resulting in more detailed and accurate measurements by means of SAR differential interferometry techniques. Among the other char...

High Resolution Ground Deformations Monitoring by Cosmo-skymed Psp Sar Interferometry: Accuracy Analysis and Validation

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) interferometry is a powerful technology for detection and monitoring of slow terrain movements. Extraction of this information is a complex task. The persistent scatterer pair (PSP) approach was recently proposed to overcome limitations of standard persistent scatter interferometry. The PSP method exploits only the relative properties of neighboring points to avoi...

COSMO-SkyMed imagery for crops characterization

This paper shows some preliminary results on the exploitation of COSMO-SkyMed (CSK) data for the characterization of agricultural fields. In particular, we analyze the impact of the planting row direction on to the radar backscattering response. We considered two different crop types, namely carrots and potatoes, and we grouped them in two subsets, the first including fields with row direction ...

Experiences about the Cosmo-skymed Stripmap Image Data Processing – First Results of Cosmo-skymed Ao Research Project

The use of COSMO-SkyMed data in the SAR interferometric techniques opens up new possibilities both for the monitoring of the surface deformation phenomena and the 3D measurements of the territory thanks to their height resolution. GEOCART engineering company has developed an own software called “SLIDE” [1,2,3] (Sar Land Interferometry Data Exploitation) to process ERS SAR data in order to produ...
